A gold nugget is a
natural formation of gold usually in a rock like format.
Gold nuggets may be found in areas where large amounts of gold
has naturally formed. Gold nuggets also can be found in
lakes and streams where the gold nuggets have traveled through
streams and settled. Gold nuggets are never pure gold.
Most of the time they are between 85 and 95 pure gold and
often contain elements and silver or other metals. Gold
nuggets usually need to be melted down in order to extract the
extra metals and create a pure piece of gold for the gold
