Platinum bars are a
less popular form of bullion investing as gold bullion or gold
bars because of their high cost. However many non-retail
investors still use platinum bars as a form of equity when
transferring wealth and assets from one place to another.
Because of the high
cost, rarely are platinum bars made in sizes larger than one
ounce for the general public. One ounce bars sometimes
cost over a thousand dollars. |

Platinum bars can
usually be purchased in the same places as gold bars.
Usually it's the same companies that deal in other precious metals
that also deal in platinum bars. Examples include Pamp
Suisse and Johnson Matthey.
In recent times,
there has been a trend where extremely small gold bars, sometimes
one tenth an ounce are being sold to retail investors because of
the high cost. This has made it more accessible to retail
investors.
