Introductory Guide to Platinum Bullion
 
Platinum bullion is a lesser known and less popular form of investing in bullion because of it's high cost and rarity.  However the price of platinum still correlates with other metals and appreciates in value as a hedge against inflation.  Platinum bullion comes in many forms such as coins, rounds, nuggets, bars, and jewelry.

Firstly, platinum bars are the first and  most expensive form of platinum bullion investing.  These are rarely purchased by retailed investors because of their extremely high cost, which can range into the tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars for a standard sized bar.


Secondly, platinum coins are a popular form of bullion investing because of their affordability and appearance.  Platinum is very expensive in the first places so organizations like the US Government and other governments and companies will mint platinum coins for popular resale.  Companies like Pamp Suisse are also great alternatives.

Thirdly, platinum nuggets are a very rare form of platinum bullion investing because most platinum is melted down into bars and coins for resale.  However you can find platinum nuggets and scraps in places that sell collector minerals and stones.

Fourthly, platinum jewelry is a form of jewelry that has become much more popular in recent times that previously before.  Although it has been around for decades, platinum jewelry did not reach the mainstream until the 1990s.  It has become popular for it's high value and prestige and the declining popularity of gold jewelry which is becoming less and less popular because overly flashy appearance.
